people talk on their cell phones while in the stall doing their business???? I have seen this in the mall, restaurant, and AT WORK!!!!!

Maybe it is just me, but if you have to talk, talk then go in the restoom. If you need to use the restroom, hang up and call them back.

I mean really!!!!

Do you have any pet peeves?

when it’s time to move on?

This could be in any situation….(friendship, romantic relationship, job)

I was talking to a friend about a situation and they came to conclusion that they need to move on. I was watching a show with a guy and gal in a very volatile relationship and I kept thinking “Y’all need to break up!!!!”. Move on!!!! I realized that their relationship crossed a line that I would not allow in my own relationship. Evidently they had not reached their breaking point yet.

When I no longer enjoy the experience….I move on.

Everyone has their own line that they will not cross…..So where do you draw the line? What’s the trigger that tells you MOVE ON!!!

So I’m watching a show and they mention that C.o.ok.ie M.ons.ter is not the one I remember from childhood. In fact he is now shoveling carrots and apples instead of cookies. The point is to give kid an example of healthy eating habits.

I’m all about teaching kids how to be healthy, but seriously???? One person on the show thought this was ridiculous and the other thought it made sense.

For me? It is ridiculous. Never once did I think I should shovel junk food into my mouth after watching this show. I mean, really. He seemed a little silly to me. Besides, if my parents didn’t have alot of junk food in the house, I couldn’t over eat it could I? Growing up there were limited amounts of junk food in the house. In fact if my sibling and I ate the junk food too quickly (within a few days) my mother wouldn’t buy anymore when she went back to the store.

What do you think about this change in the show? How did you grow up? How do you plan to raise your kids?

Guess Who? July 8, 2009

So, guess who these ladies were waiting in line to see? or, rather, get a signature from……

Waiting.......

Mr. “I’ve Been Gone forever, but you will still wait ’til 1am to hear me sing”

Mr. 1am

Now I must admit I have never purchased any of his CDs, but for some reason I wanted an autograph. So I waited…and waited…and waited. Then when he finally arrived I waited some more because the people in charge of the line couldn’t get it together and had the women on the aisle going both ways. Needless to say there were some really unhappy people because we’d all been waiting and now we were still waiting. I think I got in line around 12:30 and he signed my cd right after 2:30. Yeah I know. You’d think I was a die hard fan. I’m not. I think I just like music, and maybe the experience of waiting. Yeah, I know, doesn’t make sense. The funny thing was, you couldn’t take a picture of him. Of him. Not with him. Of him. If you know women then you know everyone had a pic by the time they got to the front of the line. And yes they really would tell you: no pictures please. One guy even raised his hand to block the lens of the girl behind me. You know I already had my pics.

In addition one of my friends wanted to watch the whole show. You know I couldn’t leave her there by herself. Though I was VERY sleepy it was worth it. I’ve never seen him in concert. He gives a good show. I was thinking he would just stand there and sing. Not so. He was all over the place. Sang a bunch of songs. I will go see him again. Unless he is last in a long line of artists….can’t do the 1:30am stuff again. By the way, I caught A.N.I.TA’s last two songs…she’s still got it.

What did you do on July 4th?

How do you want to be remembered? July 8, 2009

So I watched the memorial yesterday and I must say I was moved. Li.one.l R.it.ch.ie held back tears while singing (I understand that) and St.evi.e W.on.der was the performer he always is. I actually liked Mr. Raymond’s rendition of “Gone Too Soon”. I forgot he has a voice cuz of all the club singles he’s been releasing…anywho it got me to thinking…How would I want to be remembered?

Maybe this is egotistical or just prideful but I would hope that those I leave behind would miss me but say like the Reverend did: Thank You. Thank you for allowing God to use you in this world. I would hope that I lived out the purpose God had for me and touched the lives of people God intended.

There’s something about going to a funeral/memorial that makes you reflect on your own life. How have I lived? Do I have any regrets? Do the ones I love know I love them? Most importantly, Have I done what God asked me to do?

I had a conversation with a friend about gifts and how they are for the kingdom and not the church. In other words, if your gift is helping women it doesn’t mean you must lead the women’s ministry at your church. You may be the one who builds/runs a shelter for battered women. If you’re a great cook that doesn’t mean you only share your food with church members. You could be the one giving the homeless a grand meal.

I believe God gives everyone a gift and it is up to us how we use it.

16…. June 18, 2009

and pregnant is a show on M.T.V. I am watching (kinda) right now. They are following the girl who is pregnant. Her friends are asking her how she told her mom, and if there are things she cannot do anymore. Of course, being 16 she is all belly. She doesn’t even look pregnant from the back.

What would you do if your 16 year old relative (cousin, etc) told you she was pregnant but hadn’t told her parents yet?

So how come her 16 year old boyfriend just asked her to get out of the truck and check if he has a flat? (they were backing out of a parking spot and she is about 36 weeks) No words. But what can I expect…he’s 16.

Oh, they are naming the child Bentley.

Pickled Herring June 15, 2009

I decided not to work on my birthday. It was well worth it. I decided to go to the mall (surprise, surprise) and then get some lunch. I got some facial cleanser because I just ran out. I must say thanks to K.D. because she introduced me to this brand and the bottle I bought was HUGE!!! I can’t remember when I purchased it. It seems like it lasts forever!!! Unlike the one I used to use…

Anyhow, I decided to dine at the O.cean.aire. I started with potato leek soup, went to the relish tray, had some blackened grouper, and ended with dessert. Sounds like alot doesn’t it? Well, I took a long lunch. The grouper was really good especially with the blue cheese butter on top of it. I don’t usually like the butter on anything (steak, chicken, etc…) but the combination was good.

The best part was the pickled herring on the relish tray. I like fish and I like anything pickled. I had left overs and asked the server to put some pickled herring in my to-go container. You ought to try it. ;)

I wanted to post some pics from my lunch but for some reason it won’t upload properly. If you see me ask to see the dessert pic.

If your birthday has passed what did you do on your birthday? If you will be celebrating soon, what do you plan to do?
